PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 2026-07-14

This is the privacy policy for Fuzz & Fetch. We explain here what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what your rights are. We have written it in plain language because we believe you should be able to read a privacy policy without a law degree.

1. WHO WE ARE
Fuzz & Fetch is an online store that sells dog comfort, care, and enrichment products. Our website is fuzzfetch.com. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, email us at support@fuzzfetch.com.

2. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect the following kinds of information when you use our store:

Information you give us:
- Your name, email address, phone number, billing address, and shipping address when you place an order or contact us.
- Your payment card details when you place an order. These are processed by our payment processors (ONERWAY, our primary processor, and Paystack, our backup processor). We do not store your full card number on our servers.
- The content of any messages you send us by email or through our contact form.

Information we collect automatically when you visit our site:
- Your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and referring URL.
- The pages you visit, how long you spend on each page, and what you click.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which helps us understand which ads and content are most useful to you.

Information from third parties:
- Payment confirmations and fraud signals from our payment processors.
- Shipping and tracking updates from our shipping carriers.
- Analytics from Shopify (the platform that powers our store) and from Meta.

3. WHY WE COLLECT IT (LEGAL BASES)
We use your personal information for the following purposes:

- To process and ship your orders (legal basis: contract performance).
- To send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and customer service replies (legal basis: contract performance).
- To detect and prevent fraud (legal basis: legitimate interest).
- To send you marketing emails and show you relevant ads, but only if you have given us consent or where permitted by law (legal basis: consent or legitimate interest).
- To improve our website, products, and customer experience (legal basis: legitimate interest).
- To comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting requirements (legal basis: legal obligation).

4. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following categories of recipients, and only the minimum data each one needs:

- Shopify, which hosts our store. Shopify acts as a data processor on our behalf. See Shopify's privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- ONERWAY and Paystack, our payment processors, who process your card details when you check out. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Shipping carriers (such as DHL, FedEx, or local postal services depending on your country) who deliver your order.
- Meta (Facebook), which provides the Meta Pixel and helps us measure advertising performance. Meta may use your data for its own purposes under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized ads from Meta at facebook.com/ads/preferences.
- Klaviyo or other email service providers, if you subscribe to our emails.
- Judge.me, which manages product reviews on our site.
- Government authorities, tax authorities, or law enforcement, when we are legally required to do so.

5. COOKIES AND TRACKING
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. These include:

- Strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the site to work (cart, checkout, login).
- Analytics cookies, which help us understand how visitors use the site.
- Advertising cookies, including the Meta Pixel, which help us show you ads that are more relevant to your interests.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.

For European Union visitors, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, in line with the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR.

6. DATA RETENTION
We keep your personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and as long as required by law. In practice:

- Order data: kept for at least 7 years to comply with tax and accounting laws.
- Customer service emails: kept for 2 years.
- Marketing email list: kept until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: kept in aggregated form for 26 months.

When we no longer need your data, we delete it or anonymize it.

7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:

- The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
- The right to correct inaccurate information.
- The right to delete your information.
- The right to restrict or object to certain processing.

- The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@fuzzfetch.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Union, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information we have collected, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email us at support@fuzzfetch.com or call us at the number listed on our Contact page.

8. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We are based in Nigeria, and our store and customers are located around the world. When you place an order, your information will be transferred to and processed in the country where our store host (Shopify), payment processor, or shipping carrier operates. Some of these countries may have data protection laws that are different from your home country.

For transfers from the European Union, United Kingdom, or Switzerland to countries with different data protection laws, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or on adequacy decisions where they apply.

9. SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. These include encryption (HTTPS), access controls, and selecting reputable third-party processors. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. CHILDREN
Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email us at support@fuzzfetch.com and we will delete it.

11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Our site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, supplier or partner sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site that collects your personal information.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our site before the changes take effect.
